"We really need a secure public online interface, using something like a Google Earth global display engine to display layers of information. These layers can consist of an online encyclopedia (wiki) linked to a layer designed to graphically represent real-time public statistics, at various levels. This way we could build over time, the literal voice of a given population. This will not be an immediate replacement for government, but it will allow a check and balance for current government. If the government is not prepared to act as the majority of a population thinks they should act, they should have an adequate explanation (with testable facts) of why not. We will never know what we want, unless we start building up these statistics. Over time, the voice of a given population will emerge. We no longer need to vote for politicians, but rather assign (like jury duty) from the main population and specialist trades, for more specialized government jobs. Voting and public learning is #1."
