"The only things I would change here is to replace the word "survival" with some form of "thrive". Also, everyone contributes. Even a person who is physically "disabled" contributes by calling the rest of us to live from compassion. "I would like to see proposals for actual alternatives to the status quo. This site does a good job of outlining the failures of the status quo but I had trouble finding what specifics or details the attempt at utopia would utilize. I work in the prisons, I know how bad human nature really is...this Utopia that this charter promises wouldnt last 5 minutes ! People are selfish, lazy, and will horde food and materials immediately, not allowing the "have- nots" to get a thing....Medical school is very difficult, without financial incentive...NOBODY would become a doctor. Nursing and caring for the sick and elderly...NOBODY wants that job, garbage pickup? FORGET IT! Police and Corrections...too dangerous ! no thanx...who's gonna pick vegetables in the hot sun for free...not me! this stupid idea will never work. GOOD-LUCK !"

There's a range of relationship between species. Some are mutualists, giving to each other. Some are parasites, where one takes and the other gives. I don't see mutualists as morally good or parasites as morally evil, however. Over time the parasites have some pressure to evolve toward mutualism, lest they destroy their habitats and go extinct. I'm an ecosystem for bacteria and have 10 times as many bacterial cells as human cells in my body. If I'm an ecosystem and an individual, it seems that the ecosystems we live in are also meta-organisms unto themselves in a similar way. At this stage humans are mostly parasitic in relation to our habitats, but we have started to understand the need and potential for more mutualism.
