"To my knowledge, the elimination of the price system was first proposed in 1914 by a quasi-government organization composed of some of the most imminent scientists and engineers of the day. It was called The Technical Alliance. It was later renamed Technocracy and was headed by Howard Scott. It offered a detailed plan of transition to a cashless society that would have given people a lifestyle equivalent to $200,000 per person living in North America. Of course, it didn't happen. It was fiercely opposed by the moneyed interests which will oppose this effort as well. Today, the price system has run it's course. These same moneyed interests now control, either directly or indirectly over 90% of the world's wealth as measured by the accumulation of capital and control of resources. They enjoy an unlimited extravagant lifestyle while the majority of people in the world are now suffering from want of the basic necessaries of life. It's definitely time for a change! "
