"I am a near 30 year old woman who has decided to give up my natural rights to have children: Not because I don't believe that I would be a good mother, or because I lack matnernal instincts; not because I don't desire to raise children, but because I would never forgive myself for bringing a child into this current world. Deep in my bones I fear the selfish people that we've become on a global scale and the future of our beautiful Planet Earth. We're tearing through our resources, our environment, our water, crops, forests, animals, any life that exists for anything non human. We believe that we our so special because we're the only life forms formed like us, so we continue to take what mother nature has so gracefully provided, as though its ours, anything we want, with no regard for other life forms. I think of the future of Earth, resources, pollution, population explosions all over the world, and I'm afraid. After reading the Charter I finally feel hope for a new type of future."
