"For years I have wanted something like this to happen, ever since I first started watching Star Trek. It may seem a tad ridiculous to suggest such a massive change based on opinions I formed from watching a Sci-Fi television show, but I believe that this is the only way humanity can ever make any measure of progress without compromising itself. I want to be able to LIVE my life, not just slowly pay my way through it, in a constant state of depression knowing that I don't have enough money to afford all my hobbies and interests. I want to be able to travel the world without paying a King's ransom to do so. And I want to find a career that isn't chosen solely for its ability to provide me with adequate income. I believe, if passed, this charter will be one of the most important moments in history for our species. I can only hope that the rest of the population is wise enough to see WHY this is necessary."
