"We must put ourselves in the position of those that are to come long after us. What resources will they require? What challenges will they face? How will our squandering of priceless resources affect their ability to achieve their challenges and goals? These times will be known as the Second Dark Ages because we knew better, but we didn't act. We extract and utilize the Earth's resources as if they were infinitely available even though we know they are not. Whether we have a 100, 1000 or 10,000 year supply the resources we have are limited, of ultimate unknown value, and therefore should be treated as priceless. Only when we can break free from the chains of monetary based progress, motivation and economy will we be able to understand the devastation we have caused. We are unable to see the forest through the trees. Our Earth is the only place we have today and may very well ever have. The future of Earth depends on us to make the right choices today."
