"Our current and ever-deepening global economic crisis has made it obvious that the existing system of attempting to fulfil all human individuals' needs by the use of paid labour and capital has failed and, if continued, will lead to vastly greater, and otherwise avoidable, suffering and death. Under the existing capitalist economic model, the ever-increasing use of technology is now making it impossible for many human individuals to work and pay for, or be provided with, an acceptable standard of living. Large numbers are living in poverty, with inadequate shelter, food and water for themselves and their families. Whilst, in contrast, many other individuals, and corporate organisations, are amassing considerable surpluses of wealth which they do not share, even with those in immediate dire need. They are also consuming a disproportionate share of the earth's finite resources. This is why we need an entirely new world society based on fairness, common sense and survival. "
