"This charter is a cure for the illnesses of the earth. If we all adopt these passages as the guiding principles of life, we could abolish suffering within a generation. Indeed, this charter is not merely a cure, but a lifeboat, offering safe passage for the world of man to the distance shores of our planet's future. Without that lifeboat, we will surely drown. Never before in human history have we actively pursued our own demise with such vigor; our entire lives and civilizations have become filled to the brim with callous disregard for life in all of its forms. Such as system is not sustainable and will have disastrous consequences, unless we are able to change course. If we cannot, we will die and it will be our own doing. Indeed, it will be an end most deserved. "
